Abstract [sv]

I detta projekt har nya beräkningar av utsläpp till luft från småskalig förbränning av biomassa inom service/lokaler (CRF/NFR 1A4a) och jordbruk/skogsbruk/fiske (CRF/NFR 1A4c) tagits fram. Beräkningarna baseras på teknologispecifika emissionsfaktorer från ett tidigare SMED-projekt från 2018. För att kunna applicera dessa teknologispecifika emissionsfaktorer har andelar av ved, flis/spån och pellets beräknats per delsektor över hela tidsserien. Dessutom antas en likadan fördelning mellan moderna och traditionella vedpannor som appliceras i hushållssektorn (CRF/NFR 1A4b). På grund av den minskande andelen brännved är de reviderade utsläppen från service/lokaler samt jordbruk/skogsbruk/fiske lägre för de senare åren jämförda med utsläpp rapporterade i submission 2019. Emissionsfaktorn för övrig fast biomassa samt trenden för aktivitetsdata i CRF/NFR 1A4c behöver granskas framöver.

Osäkerheterna har setts över i ett utvecklingsprojekt från 2017 genom att utföra känslighetsanalyser på emissionsfaktorerna framtagna i en NMR-studie. De befintliga osäkerheterna bedöms vara fortsatt lämpliga för samtliga emissionsfaktorer.

Det nya beräkningssättet är mer transparent och tillåter mer detaljerade korrigeringar i fall ny kunskap uppstår. Dessutom innebär uppdateringen att emissionsfaktorer är konsistenta inom hela övrigsektorn (CRF/NFR 1A4). 

Abstract [en]

New calculations of emissions from small-scale stationary combustion of biomass in the commercial/institutional sector (CRF/NFR 1A4a) and agriculture/forestry/fishery sector (CRF/NFR 1A4c) have been developed in this study. The calculations are based on technology-specific emission factors from a previous project in 2018. In order to apply these technology-specific emission factors, shares of fire wood, wood chips and wood pellets in total wood fuel amount were calculated per subsector and across the entire time series. As implemented for the household sector (CRF/NFR 1A4b), emissions from fire wood are calculated by considering different shares of modern and traditional combustion units over time. Due to decreasing shares of fire wood over time revised emissions from both the commercial/institutional and the agriculture/forestry/fishery sector are lower compared to emissions reported in submission 2019. Emission factors for other solid biomass as well as the activity data trend for CRF/NFR 1A4c needs to be reviewed in the future.

Uncertainties have been reviewed in a project in 2017 by implementing sensitivity analysis on the emission factors obtained in a NMR-study. The existing uncertainties are assessed to still be appropriate for all emission factors.

The updated emission calculation process is more transparent and allows more detailed corrections. Updating emissions factors ensures consistency within the entire other sector CRF/NFR 1A4.
